Carbonate sequence stratigraphy: An exploration tool for sediment-hosted, disseminated gold deposits in the Great Basin

$10.00

Sequence stratigraphy is commonly used in the petroleum industry to better understand
the overall evolution of strata through time and space and to develop predictive
oil and gas reservoir models. It is herein proposed that sequence stratigraphy can also
assist in the exploration and production of sediment-hosted, disseminated gold deposits
in the Great Basin. Sequence stratigraphic concepts may become important tools to use
in conjunction with other exploration and production techniques for better understanding
the origin, stratigraphic occurrence, and geometry of these types of gold deposits.
