Buffalo Valley Gold Mine: Porphyry copper, gold skarn or distal disseminated precious-metal deposit

The Buffalo Valley goldmine is located in Lander County, Nevada, west of Battle
Mountain. The project is under joint venture between Newmont Mining Corporation
and Fairmile GoldMining Inc. Newmont completed the required expenditures to earn
the majority interest in the property in 2008 and is now the operator of the project.
Newmont drilled 253 reverse circulation and core holes between 2006 and 2009, in addition
to completing an Exploration Plan of Operations, in-house feasibility studies,
metallurgical test work, hydrologic characterization and monitor wells, and waste
rock characterization. Mine permitting has been initiated in anticipation of a development
decision. Drilling in the past four years has delineated potentially economic mineralization
totaling approximately 30 million short tons (27millionmetric tons) grading
0.021 ounces per ton (0.66 g/metric ton) Au and containing 630,000 ounces (19,600
kg) of gold.
