Position:               Project Geologist

Q-Gold Resources has an immediate need for a short to log-term contract Project Geologist to support its Oregon-based exploration and Feasibility Study program.  The Project Geologist works under the Director of Exploration to execute a soil sampling program in an efficient and safe manner.  The successful candidate will process, compile, and interpret geologic information while also overseeing day-to-day activities during the soil sampling program.  The Project Geologist will align with the organization’s long-term strategy for its project while adhering to industry regulations and company health, safety, and environmental standards.  Work for this position will be based in Lakeview, Oregon.  Candidates would be able to reside outside of Lakeview with agreement to travel to the designated work site for a period of four working days (Monday-Thursday) with three days off.

Responsibilities

·         Oversee and assist in the soil sampling program

·         Prepare weekly progress reports

·         Upload and maintain soil sampling data

·         Project management, including managing all logistics, assay interpretation, reporting and ancillary activities related to the overall project

·         Assist in planning and executing drilling programs (RC, DD, water well)

·         Supervise drill contractors and field crews

·         Log core and RC chips

·         Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community, and environmental protection

·         Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

·         B.Sc. degree or higher in Geology, M.Sc. preferred

·         3-5 years working in mineral exploration with experience in low-sulfidation epithermal systems

·         Experience with GIS programs and Excel

·         Experience with hand-held GPS units

·         Knowledge in database management

·         Strong work ethic, positive attitude and attention to detail

·         Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving and organizational skills
