Abstract: Title examination and due diligence are the core of natural resource transactions. These processes are critical to validating property ownership and assessing potential issues – including, but not limited to, breaks in the chain of record ownership or unforeseen encumbrances and other defects (a.k.a. “clouds”) on title. Title examination and due diligence are essential to mitigate risks and ensure the successful completion of property acquisitions and other natural resources developments. This presentation aims to delve into the intricacies of title examination and due diligence, exploring their significance, methods, and challenges within the realm of natural resource transactions.

He is a Certified Professional Landman with the American Association of Professional Landmen and is the current President of the Nevada Landmen’s Association. Ryan earned his degree at MSU Denver majoring in Land Use Planning with an emphasis in Environment and Resources. Ryan has been with his current company, Kinross Gold, for over 11 years and manages the North American Land Department. Before becoming a landman, Ryan was a land surveyor working on residential and commercial development projects.
