We Found The “Missing” Wenban…Probably

Ridgeline Minerals

Swift is a Carlin-Type gold exploration project located on the Cortez district of the Battle Mountain – Eureka Trend, Lander County, Nevada. The claim block is comprised of 471 federal lode claims and private fee lands totaling 51 km² and is directly adjacent to the historic Elder Creek open-pit gold mine. Numerous multi-million ounce past and currently producing gold mines including the Pipeline, Cortez Hills, Goldrush and Fourmile deposits are located downtrend of Swift along the continuation of the Cortez Structural Corridor. The property has not seen a sustained exploration program in decades with a single historic Phelps Dodge core hole (MCK-99-5A) intersecting 16.8m @ 0.72 g/t Au and 0.50 g/t Ag starting at 727m in the Silurian Roberts Mountain Formation. This drillhole was never followed up on (likely due to the depth and price of gold in the 1990’s) but is significant as it confirms potential to host a Carlin-Type gold system on the property. The notable absence of the Devonian Wenban formation has been a past point of contention at Swift as the Wenban is the primary host for gold deposits in the Cortez District.  Aside from MCK-99-5A, the few drillholes that did drill deep enough to test Lower Plate rocks drilled directly into unaltered Roberts Mountain Formation. Upon acquiring the property in early 2019 Ridgeline completed property-wide soils, field mapping and geophysics followed by a re-interpretation of the litho-structural model to account for Miocene tilting of the Shoshone Range previously documented by Carson Richardson, PhD., (University of Arizona) and the USGS. The company is now in the process of completing a 3,000m maiden core program at its Fallen City target which has confirmed the new structural  model as well as intersected a preserved section of Lower Plate Horse Canyon, Wenban and Roberts Mountain Formation carbonates with Carlin-Type alteration and mineralization observed throughout the Wenban. Assays are pending on the first of three holes with the company also sending representative core samples for fossil age dating to constrain the Devonian Wenban formation.
