SC-10 Rockfall Hazards and Mitigation Techniques

This workshop will cover the types of energy levels of rockfalls and the systems that can mitigate and reduce the hazards. There will be examples of installations in North America, South America, Africa and Australia. Examples of mitigation measures will be covered, discussing the installations and results. The flexible rockfall barrier will be reviewed with discussions on methodology, principal and technology. A computer program will be provided for analysis of the slope conditions. This information will allow for location and dimensions. This course will 5 hours long including the provided lunch. Cost: $250; May 20.
